Fun with Clay

It was such a nice day today so Ben decided to buy some clay and make his very first ceramics piece from home. Usually he spends hours in the studio at school molding his clay, but recently Jimmy helped him move his very own potter's wheel up three flights of stairs to our back porch. It was so nice to be able to relax on the porch, bask in the glow of the sunlight, and watch my husband live out his passion with clay!

Happy New Year!!

We've decided that our New Year's resolution this year should be to post more blogs...so here's our first one of 2007!!! This New Year's Eve we celebrated with Lindsey and Jimmy. We had a "Lindsey-filled" dinner (our waitress's name was Lindsey as well)! Lindsey also demonstrated her "special" laugh...it drew a lot of stares! After dinner, we celebrated in style by eating ice cream, watching a movie, playing Clue, driving the remote controlled car, and watching the ball drop. We had loads of fun and we can't wait to find out what is in store for the rest of 2007! :-)

Loca Layla!

Our crazy little girl is growing up!

Lindsay did her first full lesson today...oh yeah... Layla is huge!!

First, Lindsay's first lesson was a great success and she got lots of praise from both her teacher and her supervisor. The kids tried to give her a hard time, but she showed them who's boss. The second graders can now count by twos, fives, tens and any other numbers Lindsay throws at them.

Second, Layla now weighs 12 pounds! She went from being such a small little puppy at four pounds to a heavyweight teenager! Layla is still full of energy and is the smartest dog around. She can sit, shake and lay down on command, and now we are working on rolling over. She is fun, but she can be so bad!

We just picked up our wonderful new puppy today at around 4:00. It was an interesting ordeal at the airport, but she was so excited to see us. She immediately started to bite at our fingers, but only out of love. We are having a great time with her and can't wait till everyone can meet her.




She has finally calmed down and is sleeping in her new bed.

Disney 2005

Yay Disney! We had a wonderful time riding the rides and spending time with the family--Paul, Marilyn, Cameron, Jason, Matthew, "On-the-way Austin," Addie, Brian, and Lane--yes, that is a lot of people. Ben had a wonderful time buying his first legal beer (a half-yard, no less). Lindsay was really brave and went on Splash Mountain...yeah, you know, the one that eight-year-olds go on, but nevermind that, she had a blast! Overall, it was a great trip and we can't wait to go back.

Layla is coming home!

The most recent addition to our family, Layla Puggley Stark, will be arriving on November 18th. Layla is a Puggle, one of the newest AKC breeds, a pug and beagle mix. She was born on September 20th. She lives in Missouri right now, but she will be flying in to start the rest of her life with us very soon. We can't wait to bring her home!
